Bordeaux - Where To Stay

Bordeaux - Where To Stay

When deciding where to stay- we’d just somewhere central so you can get lost walking or riding a bike through the picturesque cobblestone streets. There is only one hotel that I can recommend and its because its actually the most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Seriously. Hotel La Tresne.

You can’t get anymore central then this hotel. And although its very central, once you are in the grounds of the hotel (which looks less like a hotel and more like the chateau of someone who is rich and famous), it’s a little bubble of French paradise.

You start by reaching a tall rendered fence with a little door that opens onto the most delightful courtyard with he chateaux wrapping around the perimeter.  Make your way to the huge wooden doors which transports you to another world of French decor perfection. You’re greeted by the most delightful staff how are beyond helpful who direct you to your room. \

Our tip would be to splurge here and book ‘The Apartment’. Make your way up the epic staircase and picture a room bigger then your house that is something that dreams are made of. As a builder, the way this place is place built blew my mind. Parquetry floors, tall French windows lining the apartment and looking over your own private courtyard. Seriously.

As I touched on- the staff are beyond helpful and will really make your stay complete. There are also two retro bikes that you can take at any time to explore the rest of Bordeaux (if you actually leave the hotel)!
